Sungrow Showcases New Solar, Storage, and EV Charging Innovations at RE+ 2023
During this year’s RE+ in Las Vegas, Sungrow unveiled its most recent solar, storage, and EV charging solutions for the North American market. These developments will help North America’s shift to renewable energy while also meeting a variety of local market demands.
Sungrow presented their newest string inverter, the SG200HX-US, which is specifically designed for utility-scale PV systems.
The SG200HX-US has 12 MPPTs that precisely track points with the highest power to make sure the PV system is always operating at its best state for generating power, increasing total yield. Moreover, the item supports larger-format PV modules and has a maximum current per string of 20 A. The product’s single MPPT for two-string design avoids the possibility of a reverse connection of the strings, assuring safety.
The SG3150/4400UD-MV-US (3.15 MW/4.4 MW), a modular inverter made by the company, was also on display.
With one MPPT for each unit, this modular inverter is a flagship product that combines the benefits of central and string inverters, giving the plant design previously unheard-of flexibility.
Sungrow introduced its liquid-cooled energy storage system (ESS), the PowerTitan 2.0, designed for the expanding utility-scale energy storage industry. The design of the new system is based on Sungrow’s power electronics, electrochemistry, and support technologies for the power grid. It uses 314 Ah of huge battery cell capacity, embeds Stem Cell Grid Technology, a string Power Conversion System (PCS) in the battery container, and has a methodical liquid-cooled temperature management. The entire solution greatly improves power density, allowing the 20-foot container to be outfitted with 2.5MW PCS and 5MWh batteries.
With multiple MPPTs, a built-in PID recovery function, and superior protection capabilities, Sungrow’s 36kW and 60kW string inverters are well suited for a variety of rooftops and are optimized for the commercial and industrial (C&I) PV markets.
Moreover, Sungrow provides its cutting-edge ESS PowerStack for C&I storage applications. The 500 kWh PowerStack energy storage system. The DC-DC controller can individually charge and discharge battery racks, enhancing system performance. Operating and maintenance (O&M) costs are significantly decreased by the automatic state of charge (SoC) calibration and the automated coolant replenishing.
The need for EV charging stations is growing along with the sales of electric automobiles.
