SECI Seeks 500 MW of Firm RE Power in India
SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) document inviting bids from Renewable Energy (RE) power developers in India for the supply of 500 MW firm and dispatchable power from ISTS-connected RE power projects. A tariff-based competitive bidding process will be used to make the decision.
About the Solar Energy Corporation of India
Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) that facilitates the implementation of the National Solar Mission (NSM) and other renewable energy schemes in India. It was established on 20th September 2011 as a non-profit company but later converted into a Section 3 company under the Companies Act, 2013.
The pre-bid meeting is set for July 25th, 2023. Bids must be submitted in electronic form by August 31, 2023, and in hard copy by September 4, 2023. The bid opening date has been set for September 5, 2023.
Tender fees of INR 29,500 are required, as well as a tender EMD (Earnest Money Deposit) or bid bond of INR 30,24,000. In addition, a bid processing fee of INR 15 lakh plus 18% GST must be submitted with the RfS response.
The selected RE power developer will be responsible for establishing ISTS-connected RE power projects, including the transmission network up to the interconnection point, at their own expense under this RfS. They will also handle land identification, project installation, project ownership, obtaining necessary approvals, and connecting SECI to the ISTS network for power supply.
The total contracted capacity available for selection is 500 MW, and the bidding process will be followed by an e-reverse auction.
This opportunity allows RE power developers to contribute to India’s renewable energy goals while also competing for the supply of firm and dispatchable power.
