GreenH Electrolysis plans 1-GW electrolyser plant in India

GreenH Electrolysis, a joint venture between the Spanish company H2B2 Electrolysis Technologies and the Indian company GR Group, announced the opening of its first one gigawatt (GW) PEM electrolyzer production facility there.

According to the official press release, the business has already purchased a 97,000-square-foot facility in Haryana’s Jhajjar district’s Reliance MET Industrial Park for the plant’s initial phase. Also, the plant installation has begun, and it is anticipated to be operating by October of this year.

“We are thrilled to announce our first manufacturing plant in India, the technology for which will be provided by H2B2 Electrolysis Technologies, our Spanish parent company. This technological expertise is coupled with the project development and EPC experience of GR Group, our Indian parent company, a leading player in the infrastructure sector in India,” said Dhiman Roy, Director and CEO, GreenH Electrolysis.

He continued by saying that they are fully prepared to start up in October with a starting capacity of 100 MW and provide our Indian customers with cutting-edge green hydrogen technology electrolyzers.

“We have taken a large area to be able to quickly ramp up. In the next two years, we plan to take up this capacity to 500 MW in the same premises. For Phase 2, we will procure additional land to expand the capacity to 1 GW,” said Roy.

According to Ashwin Agarwal, Director, of GR Promoter Group, the industry is anticipated to increase rapidly as a result of the government taking substantial steps to promote green hydrogen.

He continued by saying that the plant will assist meet India’s need for electrolyzers, particularly from the commercial and industrial sectors, and would also improve India’s capacity for producing hydrogen.
